Agent-Assisted Creation

Apply for the Technical Preview

You saw it live on October 7. Now bring your own AI agent to the Camtasia Editor timeline. Your agent builds the rough cut with real, editable tracks, callouts and cuts. You remain the director.

A learning design brief turned into a Camtasia timeline by an AI agent, with a self-check of the rendered frame

A new way to build content

Training and documentation, reimagined.

Stop building videos clip by clip. Describe what your audience needs to learn, and your AI agent handles the assembly, generating narration with Audiate and laying out real tracks, callouts and cuts on the Camtasia Editor timeline. You spend your time directing, not dragging. And every element stays editable so it's all easy to update later.

From source material to first cut

Hand your agent a script, a how-to article or a product walkthrough. It turns that into a structured rough cut with recordings, callouts, captions and narration in the right order.

Review a draft, not a blank timeline

The agent renders frames from its own work and fixes clipped text, overlaps and mistimed cuts, so your first look is at a draft worth refining.

Expertise that scales

Turn the way your best creators work into a repeatable workflow any team can run, using the model and agent harness your organization already approved.

Requirements

What you'll need to participate

This is a hands-on technical preview. The application form will ask about each item below; priority consideration is given to those with the best fit.

1

An urgent need to 10x your video output

The org needs far more training or documentation video than your team can make today, without spending a fortune on tokens. You needed a solution for this yesterday.

2

An explorer's mindset

Don your adventure pants. This is an early look and the technology is still in flux. Be ready to tinker, adapt, and share what you learn.

3

Bring your own agent harness

A standard agent harness that can run tools and scripts on your machine, such as a command-line or IDE-based agent. See the FAQ for what we've tested.

4

Sign-off to install on a laptop

A Windows or macOS laptop where you can install preview components, plus support from your internal gatekeepers (IT, security, privacy) to approve that install.

5

Time to make videos & share feedback

Agreement to use the agentic workflow to make videos each week for 3 weeks and take part in feedback sessions, surveys, or interviews with our product team during the preview. Total time commitment: roughly 15-20 hours over 6-8 weeks.

6

Willingness to share your story

A commitment to provide one approved testimonial if the preview is a success for you: a written quote, a short video, or a customer story. You approve it before anything is published.

How it works

Step 4

Direct your agent on real projects and tell us what works, what doesn't and what's missing.

Step 5

Share your story

If it's a success for your team, help us tell it with an approved testimonial.

What early users are telling us

“About 90% of what I would have done by hand in Camtasia Editor, I can already do from the preview version of the MCP.”

“You have such a massive opportunity to scale our video output in a way that no company is doing.”

“I don't think I've seen something as specifically targeted to our use case that really works like this.”

“Tools like Vyond and PowToon aren’t gonna cut it for us unless we’re just trying to generate a very small video clip. What we need are tools that really understand our video storyboards and the guidance we put around it and produce a quality first draft.”

FAQ

Questions, answered

Who can apply?

Anyone with an urgent need to scale up video creation, access to an agent harness, and the ability to install and use pre-release tech. If several people from your organization are interested, even better! We may ask you to coordinate as one team.

Does TechSmith provide the AI model?

No. Camtasia provides an agent-ready timeline and Audiate provides voice generation; you bring the model and agent harness. That keeps your content inside the AI infrastructure your organization has already approved.

Which models and agent harnesses work?

The preview is built to work with standard, commercially-available developer agent harnesses. We've tested with Claude Code (Anthropic), ChatGPT Codex, and Cursor. The application asks what you use today.

Does my content leave my organization?

Your project content goes wherever your chosen model runs. We will disclose any application analytics and what categories of information are sent to TechSmith.

Why do I need approval from IT or security?

The preview installs components on your laptop that let your agent work with Camtasia and Audiate; many organizations require review for that. Getting your gatekeepers on board early makes onboarding much faster. We will provide docs and disclosures to smooth this process for those accepted into the program.

Do I need to know how to code?

You'll direct the agent in plain language, but you should be comfortable installing software and working with an agent harness. Power users can go further with scripting and direct project-file edits.

What's the time commitment?

Plan for 15-20 hours spread over 6-8 weeks. Expect about 90 minutes for setup and onboarding, then 3 hours per week on real projects over your first 3 weeks, plus an hour per week for feedback sessions, surveys, posts in our slack channel, or interviews.

What's involved in the testimonial?

If the preview is a success for you, we ask for one of: a written testimonial with your name, title and company; a short video suitable for social and promotional use; or a longer customer story covering your challenge, solution, outcomes and lessons learned. All require your permission for public use. We understand your company may limit participation in such activity and would seek a mutually-agreeable deliverable.

Can I publish what I make in production?

We'd love that! The output is a standard Camtasia timeline you can save and edit like any other project. Preview features may change or have rough edges, so plan accordingly for business-critical work.

Is there a cost or an agreement to sign?

There is no participation fee. Accepted participants will be asked to sign a preview agreement before receiving access. Your access may be removed at any time, for non-participation or if we end or pivot the program.

How are participants selected?

Spots are limited. We review screener responses for fit with the requirements, your team's use cases, and the variety of feedback we need. Meeting every requirement makes an application much stronger but please do apply even if you can't meet them all.

What if I'm not selected?

We'll keep your application on file for future waves and keep you posted as agent-assisted creation moves toward general availability.

Your AI agent builds the canvas. You direct the final cut.

Applications close October 15. It takes about 8 minutes to apply.
